The term cardiovascular refers to the heart (cardio) and the blood vessels (vascular). The cardiovascular system includes arteries, veins, arterioles, venules, and capillaries. One of the best ways to support cardiovascular health, and health in general, is physical activity. Physical activity contributes to health by reducing the heart rate, decreasing the risk for cardiovascular disease, and reducing the amount of bone loss that is associated with age and osteoporosis. Physical activity also helps the body use calories more efficiently, which helps in weight loss and maintenance.

The supplements that can also help cardiovascular support are: Allimax, we can thank the garlic plant for this potent allicin product, however, the abilities of Allimax go far beyond the abilities of ordinary garlic. Garlic may help reduce the risk factors for cardiovascular disease and oxidative damage, which is a major factor in cardiovascular disease.

Coenzyme Q10 is a lipid-type structure with vitamin-like activity. There are various types of coenzyme species and the only one found naturally occurring in all human cells is CoQ-10. As we get older, production of CoQ-10 falls off and supplementation is important. CoQ-10 helps maintain and support healthy functioning of the muscle, both cardiac and skeletal, arteries, and the immune system. It increases energy at cellular levels, and nutritionally supports the cardiovascular system to promote additional tolerance for exercise and improving aerobic performance in certain individuals.

Unique E (With Mixed Tocopherols) contains the most biologically active forms of vitamin E. Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger. Vitamin E promotes healthy cardiovascular- and blood-vessel function. It protects body tissue from damage caused by unstable substances called free radicals, which can harm cells, tissues, and organs. Chronic insufficiency of Vitamin E is thought to be a contributing factor in heart disease.

Triple Mag combines magnesium oxide, citrate and glycinate. Magnesium activates enzymes that are essential in many functions of the body. It is also essential for the metabolism of fat, carbohydrates, and amino acids. Magnesium supports cardiovascular function and has a protective effect on the heart.

Carnitine is important for the burning of fats, without which fats cannot be burned for energy and cells become weak or die. It also helps promote heart health, maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels, and sports endurance and recovery.

Evidence from multiple large-scale population studies and random controlled trials shows that intake of recommended amounts of DHA and EPA in the form of dietary fish or fish oil supplements lowers triglycerides, reduces heart attack, prevents dangerous, abnormal heart rhythms and strokes in people with known cardiovascular disease, and slows the buildup of hardening of the arteries. I recommend taking 1 teaspoon Cod Liver Oil daily. In the past I have recommended Flax Oil. I now no longer do so after learning that because of the poor efficiency of converting alpha-lenolenic acid (in Flax) to DHA and EPA (in fish oil), I now believe it better to take Fish Oil or cod liver oil. You would have to take 100 teaspoons of flax oil to equal 1 teaspoon fish oil.
